Hertfordshire has a very special place in our hearts because we spend so much of our time here, so if you are looking to spend some time in the county here are some things we really recommend you see or do:
Hatfield House, is situated in the stunning Hatfield Park and has features dating back to the 1600s and is known to have hosted the Queen in the late 1500s. It is also home to what has been described as possibly “the most colourful Tudor portrait”, The Rainbow Portrait. Hatfield Park also has three walks, of varying lengths through the park and a stunning garden.
Harry Potter Film Studios, this now world famous film studio is where the Harry Potter franchise was filmed and is a must do for fans and muggles alike. You can see sets and props and feel totally immersed in all things Harry Potter for hours. There is parking right out side, and a free shuttle from Watford train station.
Hitchin Lavender is a must for anybody who wants to share stunning images on Instagram. They also have a shop (that is open all year round) and often hold events
St Albans is home to England’s oldest pub and well worth a visit when exploring this beautiful city
If you want 49 things to do that are all free then the local newspaper, there Hertfordshire Mercury has just the list
(Please do check opening times before heading out, as obviously things are a little different at the moment and many places are closed).
